Section A: Direct School Admission - Page 2
9. Will a sports coach be an influence in the DSA process?
All coaches have to declare if their students (private or otherwise) are participating in the HCI DSA Exercise. All assessments will be considered fairly and objectively during our sports trials.
10. Can HCI reschedule my son’s interview in the event of a clash with another school’s DSA interview/trials?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate such requests.
11. If my son is unable to attend his DSA interview for genuine medical or official reasons, will HCI be able to reschedule his interview?
For students who are medically certified to be unwell on 26 July 2025, rescheduling the in-person selection may be arranged where possible.
12. How many places does HCI offer for students admitted via DSA?
MOE manages the admission details. On average, IP schools admit 30% of their Sec One cohort via DSA. There are no exact percentages for admission via each DSA category. This will depend on the range of talents who apply to each category.
13. How should I include external enrichment programmes and out-of-school competitions in the MOE DSA application? Do I need to enter school-based achievements as well?
You do not need to enter school-based achievements in the MOE DSA application. Academic results from Primary 5 and 6, along with school-based awards and activities such as Edusave Awards, National School Games, and Junior Sports Academy participation, will be automatically shared with the DSA schools.
However, you may include up to 10 entries under the “Section II: Non-school-based Awards/Activities (Optional)” section for any non-school-based awards, enrichment programmes, or competitions your child has participated in. This section is optional, but it helps provide a more complete picture of your child’s interests, talents, and experiences beyond the classroom.
